Clips of Faith Film and Beer Festival is coming to Reno to Benefit RBP!

Hey all,

Our long time partner and sponsor New Belgium has started a new tour call Clips of Faith. They are making a stop here in Reno at Wingfield Park on August 6. The event begins at 6:30 pm with all the proceeds from beer sales going to Reno Bike Project. We hope to see you all there.

You can find all the details here http://www.clipsoffaith.com/cities.html

This first-year festival will bring people together for a summer outdoor screening of collected amateur short films accompanied by some of New Belgium’s most esoteric beer offerings. The Clips of Faith Beer & Film Tour
(www.clipsoffaith.com) will screen in fourteen cities throughout the summer and fall of
2010, beginning in Madison, Wisconsin on June 16.

Each stop along the fourteen-city tour will feature an outdoor screening of the collected
films, a full tasting of New Belgium’s Lips of Faith beers.

All proceeds will benefit local bike non-profits. The series will run between mid-June and mid-October.

Entries range from kayaking buddies navigating grizzlies and whales on a paddling trip
from Alaska to Seattle, to an absurdist spaghetti western about a flat tire (and some
beer). There are visual odes to people’s love affairs with their bikes, assorted comedy
shorts, and thought-provoking environmental pieces.

To learn more about New Belgium’s Clips of Faith series, go to www.clipsoffaith.com.
The creative team at New Belgium Brewing reviewed and selected the winning films.
Three top winners will receive an all expenses paid trip to New Belgium.

Reno Bike Project and Holland Project are stoked to announce an epic movie premier, right here in the biggest little city, “Veer”. A documentary film about bicycle culture and life, the premier is right up the alley of the local bicycle community.

TUESDAY, JUNE 23RD, DOORS AT 7PM, SCREENING AT 8PM Nevadan Hotel, 3rd Floor Club Cal Neva (West side of Virginia Street)

On the heels of National Bike Month, the Tour De Nez and the Reno Film Festival, Reno’s cycling culture gets a special pre-release screening of Veer. This award-winning, feature length documentary film explores America’s fast-growing bicycling culture by profiling five people whose lives are inextricably tied to bicycling and the bike-centric social groups they belong to. The film follows these characters over the course of a year, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their personal struggles and triumphs.

Described as a “breakthrough documentary,” the film made its world premiere at the Victoria Film Festival earlier this summer and has won a Jury Award for Best Doc at the Calgary Film Festival, won Best Documentary at the Calgary Underground Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Documentary at the San Joaquin International Film Festival. Veer examines what it means to be part of a community, and how social movements are formed.

Hope to see everyone there with their bike gear on, awesome attitudes, and the excitement for a great movie for a great bike community.

Thanks Everyone!!!
